Children express themselves through art on a fundamental level. Sometimes their artwork is the manifestation of that expression, but more often, the physical process of creating is the expression.
Art is a process, not a product. Where art is concerned, it is the process of creating - exploring, discovering, and experimenting - that has the greatest value. Through self-expression and creativity, children's skills will develop naturally, and their ability to create will soar.
The Arty Start team offer weekly classes to children 6-12 years old outside of school at a Maroubra location. Here kids will be exposed to various medium and techniques of art making including printing, clay, painting, drawing and sculpture. While these classes are curriculum based, they are also a fun and exciting way to develop children's creativity.
These classes are on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:45pm until 5:00pm
Arty Start will be running exciting school holiday workshops in the school holidays for 6-12 year olds. See the booking page for dates and times.
The budding artists will explore different media and create enriched artwork, that will include sculpture, drawing and painting.
They will develop their art skills and focus on exploring a range of techniques. They will come out of the workshops with a sense of achievement as well as masterpieces to be proud of.
Children should bring morning tea (meat and nut free snack), and dress to get messy.
